Let me just start out by saying thank you so much for all the positive feedback I got on my last post! It made me feel amazing to know that so many people benefitted from it, so I’m definitely going to keep those sorts of things coming! Today, I wanted to give you a glimpse into what’s going on in my world right now. Personally, I think it’s interesting to watch blogs and reality TV shows because you get to experience someone else’s life in a sense. I hope it’s not weird that I like to think the people that read my blog are interested in what’s going on in my life. So let’s dive in…
I have to say that taking my own advice has really helped me health-wise. This entire past week I slept at least 7 hours every night! I’m not kidding when I say that I felt like a new man. My stomach issues subsided, and I felt way more relaxed than usual. I even took some time to go to a Lightning game for the first time in a month, which was awesome even though they lost. Yesterday, my momma came to visit, too! That was definitely the highlight of my week. I love getting to spend time with her. We just get along so well, even though she does drive me a little crazy when we try to pick a restaurant. Plus, when momma comes to town, that means I don’t have to pay for groceries, and what college student doesn’t like free food? 🙂
Oh! I’m also going to Washington D.C. on Wednesday for a couple days to attend a conference, which should be a lot of fun! We are even going on a White House tour! I’m really excited to take some time away from school, my daily stressors, and even the gym. Yes, the gym! Don’t get me wrong, I love working out, but when you do so 5-6 days a week, your body starts to need more than one or two rest days. Even more so, I need a mental break, so I can start training with intensity again. After a while, I start to get a little worn out, and I’ve found that taking a few consecutive days off a couple times a year really reignites my fire. Also, I have tonsillitis, so I’m sure my body could use a little rest considering this is the second time I’ve been pretty sick in less than two months. Remember, listen to your body 🙂
And because I like to deliver value added in all my posts, I want to throw in a short blurb about confidence. On Sunday, my mom and I were suit shopping for my trip, and there was a gentleman helping us match up some outfits. In the middle of it, he put a combo together that was a little quirky, but definitely wearable. I remember my mom had some apprehension about it, but for some reason I said, “You can wear anything as long as you own it. I’ll just walk with confidence, and no one will think anything of it.” After we left, my mom and I were talking about how true that is. Having confidence in anything whether it’s a job, outfit, school, etc. opens many doors. Not only do you feel better about yourself, but also people notice how you’re carrying yourself. I mean honestly, think about those you admire. Chances are they walk with confidence. These people are comfortable with who they are and what they stand for. They know what they like and they own it. It’s why we like them! So maybe this week, try practicing walking with confidence. Here are a few tips to help you out:
- Wear your favorite outfit.
- Start your day with some me time, like a workout or meditation.
- Walk with power: shoulders back, back straight, head up, and smile!
Own your body, your thoughts, and every gift God gave you. You’ll be surprised at what it does for you 🙂
